About
Twenty-two departments, three days.
Anant Khel is the annual sports meet of Central University of Jammu, run by the Directorate of Physical Education. Everything on this page comes from the Directorate’s circular; nothing on it is invented.
Who competesthe unit is the department
Departments enter, not schools. One team per department per team game, boys and girls separately. The circular is explicit about it: no school-level teams are entertained.
A department that cannot raise a full side may club with another department of the same school. A clubbed side plays under both names and scores as one — it appears on the points table as its own row rather than having its medals credited to one half of it.
How it is won5 · 3 · 1
Five points for a gold, three for a silver, one for a bronze. Points are stored against the result, so the figure in the table is the one the certificate was issued against.
Departments score and schools inherit. The school whose departments take the most points wins the Vice-Chancellor’s Cup for the edition.
How to take partthrough your department
- Create an account with your University address.
- Enter an individual event yourself — the sprints, chess, a throw, a jump.
- Put your name in for a team game. You cannot put yourself in a team; the side is picked from the people who volunteered.
- Your Head of Department nominates. No entry is confirmed until the department office has signed it off.
- Turn up in your jersey — the colour of the department’s doctoral thesis.
The jerseythe thesis colour
Each department plays in the colour of its doctoral thesis. It is how a side is recognised from the far touchline, and it is why the colours on this site are chips and rules rather than decoration.
The colours shown on this site are placeholders until the official list reaches the Directorate. Replacing them is one line per department and changes nothing else.
